Champagne Calculator

Bottles, cases, and flutes for a toast, a sparkling cocktail hour, or a mimosa bar — with the cushion caterers build in for foam and refills.

For adults of legal drinking age only. This calculator estimates purchase quantities — it is not a drinking guide. Never serve alcohol to anyone under 21 (US) or to guests who are visibly intoxicated; hosts can be held legally responsible in many states. Offer a non-alcoholic sparkling option so every guest can join the toast, and plan safe rides home.

How to Calculate Champagne

  1. A 750 ml bottle is ~25 oz — six 4 oz toast pours, or five 5 oz glasses.
  2. Toast: one pour per guest, plus ~10% for foam, spills, and second rounds.
  3. Reception: two glasses the first hour, one per hour after — the standard bar rule.
  4. Mimosas: half sparkling, half juice, so each bottle stretches to about 10 drinks.

Champagne formulas

Toast bottles = ceil(guests ÷ 6 × 1.1)
Reception bottles = ceil(guests × (hours + 1) ÷ 5)
Mimosa bottles = ceil(drinks ÷ 10)

Worked example — 100-guest toast: 100 ÷ 6 × 1.1 = 19 bottles, about 1.5 cases.
